Publication Ethics

GAERPSY Publishing is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics across all its journals. As a publisher, we adhere to the principles and guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity.

  1. General principles

All GAERPSY Publishing journals operate under the following ethical principles:

  • Editorial decisions are based solely on the scholarly merit and relevance of submitted work.
  • All manuscripts undergo rigorous double-blind peer review.
  • The identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.
  • All parties involved in the publication process, editors, authors, and reviewers, are expected to adhere to the highest ethical standards.
  1. For editors

Editors across all GAERPSY journals are expected to:

  • Make fair and unbiased editorial decisions based on the manuscript's merit.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts.
  • Recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists.
  • Act promptly on allegations of misconduct, following COPE guidelines and flowcharts.
  • Ensure transparency in the editorial process.
  1. For authors

Authors submitting to any GAERPSY journal are expected to:

  • Submit only original work that has not been previously published or is under consideration elsewhere.
  • Ensure all listed authors meet the ICMJE authorship criteria.
  • Disclose all potential conflicts of interest and funding sources.
  • Obtain appropriate ethics approval for research involving human or animal subjects.
  • Declare the use of AI tools in manuscript preparation.
  • Properly cite all sources and avoid plagiarism in all forms.
  1. For reviewers

Reviewers for GAERPSY journals are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all manuscripts reviewed.
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest and decline review if unable to provide an unbiased assessment.
  • Do not use information obtained during peer review for personal advantage.
  1. Misconduct and investigations

GAERPSY Publishing takes allegations of misconduct seriously. All allegations, including plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, and undisclosed conflicts of interest, are investigated in accordance with COPE guidelines. Actions may include:

  • Rejection of the manuscript.
  • Publication of corrections or retractions.
  • Notification of the author's institution.
  • Prohibition of future submissions from the offending author(s).
  1. Retractions and corrections

GAERPSY Publishing will issue corrections (errata) for minor errors that do not affect the integrity of the work. It will retract articles found to contain unreliable findings, plagiarism, or unethical research, in accordance with COPE retraction guidelines. All retractions are clearly marked and linked to the original article.
