1. Peer Review Type
The IJSSE employs a double-blind peer-review process. Neither authors nor reviewers are aware of each other’s identities. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts. The journal utilises a Digital Editorial Officer (DEO) to coordinate the review workflow.
2. Initial Screening
Academic Quality: Rigour, relevance, and scholarly merit.
Plagiarism: Similarity screening using Turnitin.
Proofreading: Language quality and clarity.
3. Reviewer Recommendations
Accept – Suitable for publication as is.
Minor Revisions – Small improvements needed.
Major Revisions – Significant improvements required.
Reject – Not suitable for publication.
4. Scoring System
Reviewers mark manuscripts on a four-point scale: Excellent (4), Good (3), Moderate (2), and Poor (1). A manuscript with an average score below 3 may be rejected.
5. Ethical Responsibilities
Declare any conflicts of interest.
Maintain strict confidentiality of manuscripts.
Review objectively and respectfully.
Not use AI tools in the review process.
6. Time Frame
The IJSSE aims to reach a decision within 4 to 8 weeks. A fast peer review may take 2 to 4 weeks.
