Reviewer Guideline

1. Peer Review Type

The IJSSE employs a double-blind peer-review process. Neither authors nor reviewers are aware of each other’s identities. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts. The journal utilises a Digital Editorial Officer (DEO) to coordinate the review workflow.

2. Initial Screening

  • Academic Quality: Rigour, relevance, and scholarly merit.

  • Plagiarism: Similarity screening using Turnitin.

  • Proofreading: Language quality and clarity.

3. Reviewer Recommendations

  1. Accept – Suitable for publication as is.

  2. Minor Revisions – Small improvements needed.

  3. Major Revisions – Significant improvements required.

  4. Reject – Not suitable for publication.

4. Scoring System

Reviewers mark manuscripts on a four-point scale: Excellent (4), Good (3), Moderate (2), and Poor (1). A manuscript with an average score below 3 may be rejected.

5. Ethical Responsibilities

  • Declare any conflicts of interest.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of manuscripts.

  • Review objectively and respectfully.

  • Not use AI tools in the review process.

6. Time Frame

The IJSSE aims to reach a decision within 4 to 8 weeks. A fast peer review may take 2 to 4 weeks.
