Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

The IJSSE is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical publishing in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) core practices and the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity.

1. For Editors

Editors adhere to the principles of independence and integrity in the decision-making process. All manuscripts are subject to rigorous peer review. Editors shall not participate in the processing of articles in which they have a conflict of interest. Editorial decisions are based exclusively on the merit and relevance of the submitted content.

2. For Authors

Authorship: The list of authors must include all eligible authors in the correct order, with consensus from all co-authors.

Originality: Manuscripts must be original. Simultaneous submission to multiple journals is prohibited.

Plagiarism: Authors must correctly cite all sources. Self-plagiarism is considered unethical.

Conflicts of Interest: All potential conflicts must be disclosed.

Data Sharing: The IJSSE encourages authors to share research data to enhance transparency and reproducibility.

3. For Reviewers

  • Declare any conflicts of interest.

  • Keep all reviewed articles and their contents strictly confidential.

  • Provide objective reviews and avoid personal criticism.

  • Respond promptly and notify the journal if unable to participate.

4. Ethical Oversight

Vulnerable Populations: Research involving vulnerable populations must have obtained informed consent and must safeguard participants’ rights, privacy, and confidentiality.

Animal Research: Researchers must comply with ethical standards and implement the 3R principles (Reduce, Refine, Replace).

Human Subjects: Authors must ensure informed consent is obtained and provide detailed trial plans.

5. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Policy

AI resources cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. If AI tools are used in research, authors must clearly disclose this in the "AI Usage Declaration" section. Reviewers are prohibited from using AI in the manuscript review process.

6. Retractions and Corrections

The IJSSE may retract a publication if findings are unreliable, if the work has been previously published without proper acknowledgement, if it constitutes plagiarism, or if it reports unethical research.
