International and Nordic relevance
The International Journal of Studies in Psychology (IJSPSY) is committed to promoting research that advances understanding of psychological, educational, social, and cultural issues across diverse national and regional contexts. The IJSPSY welcomes high-quality theoretical, empirical, methodological, and applied research that addresses issues of international significance while recognising the importance of local and context-specific perspectives.

The IJSPSY promotes international scholarship by:
- Welcoming submissions from researchers and institutions across different countries and regions;
- Encouraging comparative, cross-cultural, and interdisciplinary research;
- Publishing research addressing psychological and educational challenges that have relevance beyond a single national context;
- Promoting diversity in theoretical perspectives, research methodologies, populations, and cultural settings;
- Encouraging authors to clearly explain the broader implications and transferability of their findings where appropriate; and
- Maintaining an internationally diverse editorial and peer-review network.
The IJSPSY recognises that psychological and educational phenomena may vary according to cultural, social, economic, institutional, and geographical contexts. Accordingly, research addressing specific national or local contexts is welcomed where it provides a clear scholarly contribution and has implications for wider international scholarship.
- Nordic Relevance
IJSPSY also recognises the importance of scholarship emerging from the Nordic region, including Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. The journal welcomes research examining psychological and educational issues within Nordic contexts, as well as comparative studies involving Nordic and non-Nordic countries.
Relevant areas may include, but are not limited to, inclusive education, learner and teacher wellbeing, educational equity, mental health, psychosocial development, cultural diversity, educational policy, learning environments, digital education, and psychological interventions.
The IJSPSY encourages contributions that examine how Nordic educational and psychological practices, policies, and research findings may contribute to international debates, while also recognising the contextual factors that distinguish Nordic societies from other regions.
- Commitment to contextual and global scholarship
IJSPSY seeks to provide a platform where research from different geographical and cultural contexts can contribute to a shared international body of knowledge. Internationalisation is therefore understood not simply as the geographical diversity of authors and editors, but also as the international relevance, contextual sensitivity, methodological quality, and broader scholarly contribution of published research.
Through its editorial policies, international peer-review processes, and geographically diverse authorship and editorial participation, the IJSPSY aims to facilitate meaningful scholarly exchange between researchers from the Nordic region, Africa, Europe, Asia, the Americas, and other global contexts.
